Zwift  – Case Study

In 2021 and 2022 Pod became an exclusive Supply Chain talent partner to Zwift, supporting them with a team build of 15 Supply Chain & Procurement professionals.

BACKGROUND

After growing a fit-tech business who achieved Unicorn status, Zwift raised series C funding in 2020 to build a physical bike product. The change from a tech platform to a business with a product meant that Zwift needed to build an entire Supply Chain team, spanning North America, the UK and China. 

OUR APPROACH

Pod worked with Zwift to understand their Supply Chain challenges, working with the COO and Talent Director. As this was the first time Zwift had recruited within Supply Chain, we supported them by:

  • Identifying their biggest Supply Chain problem and placed a Senior Director of Quality in China, to work with their manufacturing sites
  • Built job descriptions for 20 Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing and Logistics roles which would need to be hired
  • Built interview processes for each of these roles, including interview questions and case studies for each stage
  • Created a talent market map across 6 US states, to support Zwift in understanding the best location to build their Supply Chain hub

Following this initial stage, over a 12-month period, Pod were engaged to fill a number of vacancies.

DELIVERY

During the project, we:

  • Built a dedicated account team for Zwift, led by our CEO, to ensure the delivery of roles
  • Created candidate marketing documents, bringing Zwift’s business, culture and Supply Chain to life to support with candidate attraction
  • Ran advertising campaigns across multiple channels
  • Ran headhunt and referral searches for each role
  • Implemented weekly update meetings with Zwift stakeholders
  • Created market insight documents for each role to be shared with Zwift stakeholders
  • Created a first stage screening process for all candidates, to be ran by Pod
  • Managed candidate submission, stakeholder availability, arranged interviews through to offer and offer paperwork
  • Supported with onboarding and co-ordinated feedback from both Zwift and the candidates following start date

  • Senior Director, Sourcing – USA
  • NPI Materials Manager – UK
  • Global Mechanical Sourcing Manager – USA
  • Global Electrical Sourcing Manager – UK
  • Senior Manager, Quality – UK
  • Manufacturing Engineer – UK
  • NPI Planning Manager – UK
  • Senior Quality Engineer – UK

THE RESULT

  • Pod placed 15 roles over an 18 month period
  • 100% of placed candidates were still within their role 12 months after starting
  • 100% of offers made to candidates were accepted
  • We received excellent feedback from all stakeholders at Zwift and became their exclusive partner for end-to-end Supply Chain recruitment globally
