We are working with an award-winning business as they look to fill an exciting and very fast paced role in conjunction with their Customer Accounts Team. This Account Director position will be working with senior and influential stakeholders in the business – providing the successful candidate with lots of internal exposure from day one and the opportunity to make a name for themselves with the progression opportunities that come with it. The role

This Director position will be responsible for leading all key customer relationships – working collaboratively to design the customer strategy and engagement plan for delivery. This is a senior role in the team and will take charge of some of the company’s most profitable accounts. The Account Director will be the lynchpin across all customer requirements and the internal business units from sales to supply chain and technology to procurement – managing projects on buy and sell sides.

As a team leader, the Account Director will set the strategy for the function – managing 6+ Account Managers on day-to-day delivery and serving as the escalation point for all key strategic decisions across the customer base. They will lead on all monthly and quarterly customer update meetings and will also be responsible for working closely with the data and insights teams to identify market trends – proactively updating customers on market opportunities for their businesses.

Skills and Experience

  • This role is a traditional account management position working with globally renowned companies – corporate account management experience in a retail/FMCG environment is a must have
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills are a must – this role is a high profile position with exposure to very senior stakeholders – applicants must be able to demonstrate a track record in influencing key decision makers and leading complex conversations
  • Good project management and planning skills are a must – this role will be managing multiple programmes in a fast paced and ever-changing landscape
  • Understanding of sourcing/procurement/supply chain processes would be highly beneficial
  • Prior experience managing and developing teams
  • A proactive approach with the ability to foresee challenges and prioritise projects
