A global consumer goods manufacturing business is currently investing significantly in their global procurement function and seek a strong Raw Materials Senior Buyer to join their team in Manchester.
A new global procurement strategy is currently being implemented following a period of transformation aimed at improving procurement capability and technology deployment across the global business. Key requirements include leading on senior stakeholder engagement (Director up to VP), overseeing negotiations with new and existing suppliers to drive bottom-line value and managing sourcing projects across Raw Materials, Chemicals and Commodities.
The role reports into the Global Procurement Manager who has been implementing a new procurement strategy which will increase the impact of the procurement function and their reach & influence with stakeholders across multiple business units.
Key Skills required:
- 5+ years’ procurement experience with direct materials/commodities, for example chemicals, ingredients, packaging, beverages or pharmaceuticals.
- Ability to influence at senior levels in a fast-moving industry/company environment.
- Prior experience leading negotiations and implementing procurement strategy.
