Very brave (and arguably crazy!) Pod employee Ross Williams is currently undertaking a mammoth challenge in the name of charity, to support a great cause close to his heart.
Ross is running all the way from Manchester to London in seven days - this equates to at least a marathon (26.2 miles for those that don't know!) EVERY DAY for seven days.
As of today, Monday 27th April, Ross has already completed three of the seven marathons and has made it to Birmingham, where he's now having a well earned rest.
Ross is running to support Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust - a cause very personal to him.
Ross said of his challenge:
"My Dad worked as an Engineer and in 2003 was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Doctors told my Mum that my Dad most likely inhaled asbestos whilst in his 20s in the 1970s and unbeknownst to him, the disease escalated throughout his 30s, 40s and early 50s. Sadly about 6 months after he was diagnosed – he was gone. I would hate to see other families go through the heartache losing a parent can cause. Whatever money I raise will contribute to paying the wages & costs of specialist nurses who will then dedicate their time to focus on patients specifically diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Hopefully you can appreciate my motivation & donate to give me a (much needed) boost!"
