Chris joined Pod in August 2017, to focus on launching a brand new division at Pod; Supply Chain Technology. As our industry continues to focus on developments in the technology division, we wanted to have an offering for our clients that fills the gap between operations and technology, hence this division was born. Supply Chain Technology focuses on the implementation and running of systems which support planning, logistics, customer services, procurement and manufacturing, recruiting for roles from analyst to director level.
In April 2019, Chris was promoted to head up our supply chain planning team as well as continuing to run supply chain technology. These two divisions work incredibly closely together, and Chris's team recruit from entry to board level across supply planning, demand planning, S&OP, business analysis, reporting, ERP implementation, WMS implementation and related roles.
Chris started his career working for Lidl within logistics, before joining Michael Page to set up an interim division within the project management space, focusing on operations. Chris progressed at Michael Page from consultant to managing a team of 2, and has placed to a huge number of blue-chip clients in his recruitment career including Wincanton, DHL, Antalis, Samsung, Geodis, Debenhams and M&S.
When Chris was looking for an opportunity that gave him a chance to have a bigger impact on the growth of a business, and somewhere he could take true ownership, he thought of Pod - after a few meetings with Lucy & Jon, the idea of launching a new division led by Chris came to life and the rest is history. Chris quickly had a big impact here; he quickly managed to pick up business with both Pod’s existing clients and brand new ones, placing roles with the likes of Gousto, K&N and The Perfume Shop within his first few months.
Outside of recruitment life, Chris quickly became ingrained in the Pod social scene, and due to his Irish charm is on first name terms with the manager of a local pub which has become Pod’s new home on a Friday night. He’s also known for being really good at losing things (he has lost his key card about 6 times in 6 months), letting his beard grow out of control, wanting to manage new divisions on a weekly basis and leading consultants astray on nights out which end up in local nightclubs or the casino. We love having Chris as part of our leadership team and the general Pod Squad, and look forward to his continuing development here.
