Growing Procurement Function – Luxury Goods Company - €85,000 - €90,000 + Bonus + Package – Faverges, France (Hybrid)
The Pod Procurement team are excited to be working exclusively with a leading global luxury goods business as they hire a new Head of Procurement position to help transform their current purchasing team. The primary focus for this position will be creating a strategic procurement function to manage spend across all directs, indirects and capex contracts. The business has recently hired a senior supply chain leader and the Head of Procurement role will help on their steps towards building a sustainable and resilient global supply chain. This role is perfect for someone stepping up into their first “Head Of” level role and will provide an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a procurement function.
The role
The Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading a current team of 3 across all areas of indirects, directs and capex procurement. Managing an addressable spend of c.€40M there will be an immediate opportunity to impact savings by identifying opportunities across indirects and directs categories – which historically have been run on a tactical basis. With a long-term goal of increasing addressable spend – the Head of Procurement will work with senior stakeholders across all key functions to understand business requirements and create procurement strategies centred around compliance, strategic vendor relationships and supplier diversification. The latter, helping to create a more resilient and partnership focused supply chain. This position will report directly into the Global Supply Chain Director and will be responsible for creating a high performing and commercially astute procurement function.
Skills and experience required
- We are looking to speak to procurement professionals with experience across both directs and indirects categories – luxury goods industry knowledge would be an advantage but not a prerequisite. Manufacturing/Consumer Goods/Phama etc. would also be of interest
- Must have global sourcing experience of raw materials/commodities
- Strong strategic sourcing experience is a must – with a track record of creating category strategies and full ownership of end-to-end procurement
- Team management and development experience is also essential
- We are looking for procurement candidates with excellent people skills – capable of influencing corporate and operational stakeholders – not afraid to push back and influence whilst creating an open and collaborative environment
- Applicants must be self-starters and confident – capable of leading a function and being proactive to combat potential challenges internally and externally
- Must be fluent/native French speakers with ideally some previous working experience in France
