A leading global business is transforming their logistics procurement function and seek a strong transportation or warehousing procurement professional to take the lead on strategy, process improvements and KPI design & implementation.
This customer-centric business is keen to maximise the value of strategic procurement in order to deliver maximum value for consumers globally. You will be in charge of managing and introducing new technologies and tools, creating warehousing & transportation procurement processes across the global logistics business and working with the world-class strategic procurement team to ensure successful customer journeys and to create top line value.
The ideal applicant will have expert logistics knowledge and strategic sourcing/category management experience within the logistics category, with specific expertise in transportation or warehousing. The role will see you work with a broad range of stakeholders across various business units, so strong influencing and communication skills are essential. The business is growing rapidly so somebody with a keen interest in continuous improvement, utilizing procurement for growth and driving both change and sustainability would be an ideal candidate for this exciting position.
Global Procurement Manager Logistics key responsibilities:
- Create innovative procurement strategies, processes and guidelines and effect change across the global business
- Build lasting and effective relationships with stakeholders across procurement, as well as with key internal functions (logistics, distribution, etc)
- Benchmark logistics procurement performance and deliver value-add initiatives in partnership with key internal communities.
Experience required:
- FMCG experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong global strategic sourcing experience and a strong, expert level knowledge of transportation or warehousing.
- Effective communication across different levels and functions of business
- Appetite and desire to drive large-scale, transformative change withing both procurement and logistics functions.
